What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, development, and testing of hardware systems across a range of domains, including robotics, embedded platforms, automation, and off-grid technology.

  • Develop modular and scalable components that can be adapted for different use cases from field-deployable systems to in-house R&D tools.

  • Oversee the full hardware lifecycle: from initial concept and prototyping to iteration, validation, and deployment.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, data, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of systems at every layer.

  • Define and implement testing protocols to evaluate performance, reliability, and long-term durability under varying environmental and operational conditions.

  • Drive documentation, tooling, and process development to support rapid prototyping, efficient handoff, and long-term system support.

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies, components, and techniques that can enhance the performance or manufacturability of future systems.

Key Skills and Qualities:

  • Embedded Systems Design: Proficient in designing systems using microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32) and sensors.

  • Mechanical Engineering: Strong background in materials science, aerodynamics, and structural design.

​

  • CAD & PCB Design: Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium).

​

  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work closely with software and data teams, ensuring cohesive hardware-software integration.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Analytical approach to troubleshooting and optimizing hardware performance in real-world conditions.
